Harris Bank Sponsors Mather H.S. Alumni Scholarship Fund
Harris Bank recently made a grant to the Mather H.S. Alumni Scholarship Fund to sponsor the Sandi Port Errant Alumni Volunteer Program. Citing the program as one with the potential for success not only at Mather High School, but one that could be a model for other Chicago Public Schools who have alumni willing and able to “give back”, Harris agreed to underwrite program expenses for the year. A longstanding supporter of education, the arts, and community development, Harris values the opportunity to partner with Mather alums on this program.
“At Harris we have a longstanding partnership with the Chicago Public Schools,” says Diane Filbin, VP Community Affairs, based in Glencoe. “And this vote of confidence in Mather alums gives us a unique opportunity support volunteerism at its most effective level.”.
Recognizing that sustained commitment to education enhances the quality of life for all people, Harris is proud to support the Mather H.S. Alumni Scholarship in the spirit of community partnership that has identified the bank for over 125 years.

The Career Fair was a smashing success!
The Career Fair was held on Friday, November 10, 2009. Eight Mather Alumni attended and offered information about their careers. Mather students learned about professions, such as accounting, teaching, journalism, banking and social service. The alumni were excited about describing their professions to the students and sharing stories as students with fellow alumni.
Thank you to the following alumni who gave their time:
Florence Ramos, Kimberly Sawyer (1988), Miray Estephan, Jerome Schenwar (1963), Robert Atkins (1971), Alan Solomon, Cary Rosenthal (1978), and Natasha Peric.
