Welcome to the Mather High School Alumni Web Site! This site is dedicated to the people who attended the Stephen Tyng Mather High School in Chicago, Illinois.

The Mather High School Alumni are a part of a community that embodies the spirit, knowledge and wisdom fostered by this wonderful school. Our members reflect the rich, cultural diversity of Chicago. As alumni we live in every corner of the globe, from Stockholm to San Diego, Bosnia to the Philippines.

Our mission is to:

offer financial support through a scholarship program

provide alumni resources to help current student body of Mather High School as they consider postsecondary college and career plans

Mather High

From the Principal...

I am excited about returning to Mather as a graduate of class of 1986 and have many plans to make it a top notch school. Mather has changed over the years, but it is still a great place to receive a quality secondary education.  Many different ethnic groups, speaking over fifty languages, have passed through our doors and each one enriches the texture of the education for both students and faculty.  As our school approaches its 50th birthday, plans are underway for a massive $26 million renovation project, designed to help alleviate space limitations and overcrowding at our school.  After the renovation is completed, we will welcome our Mather family back for a big birthday party celebration. We hope that you will get involved in the planning and can sign up on the web site.

I am also looking forward to many years of working with fellow alumni and want to continue fostering the relationships that have been developed with the Sandi Port Errant alumni Volunteer Program.  These programs have already benefited many students through the scholarships and career programs.  The alumni have also enjoyed giving back to their community.

We welcome you with open arms.  Come watch us grow!
